Peach oolong tea (quantity 16 oz.) is best known to most Americans as the complement to Dim Sum at many Chinese restaurants. It is said that drinking oolong tea is among the best ways to fight the effects of aging on the skin. The varieties of oolong tea differ greatly in flavor, depending on the amount of time that the leaves are given to ferment.

The name oolong tea comes from the Chinese name 烏龍茶, which is pronounced as wu lóng chá and it means black dragon tea.

Traditional Chinese oolong teas belongs to the category qingchá (青茶) . It literally means "blue-green tea". Oolong, is a semi-oxidized tea. It ranges from 15% to 75% oxidation. The leaves are often processed and rolled into long curly leaves or into a ball-like form.

The best Oolong has a range of flavors. Oolong taste more similar to green tea than to black tea. It lacks the rosy, sweet aroma of black tea but it likewise does not have the seeweed like taste that typify green tea. The taste depends on the temperature and brewing time. It is commonly brewed to a temperature between 190 and 203 degrees. This produces a range of flavors such as a taste that is slightly bitter to a taste that has a sweet and pleasant aftertaste.

Oolong tea that is produced in Taiwan are world famous. The best known oolong tea is from the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province.
